Hareline Ice Dub offers unbeatable flash and a fine, super soft cut for easy use.

Hareline Ice Dub is one of the most widely used dubbing materials on the market today. Great for nymphs and streamers. Try Ice Dub on the thorax of pheasant tail style nymphs or use it as the body on scud and caddis larva patterns. Check out the Ice Dud Dubbing Dispensers here, Hareline Ice Dub Dubbing Dispensers.

  1. Material Composition: Ice Dub is made from fine, flashy synthetic fibers. The exact composition can vary by color, but it often includes a blend of materials like mylar, UV fibers, and other synthetic elements.

  2. Texture: The dubbing has a fine texture, making it easy to work with for creating nymphs, wet flies, and other patterns. The synthetic fibers create a sparkly, iridescent effect, mimicking the appearance of natural insect bodies.

  3. Translucency: One of the distinctive features of Ice Dub is its translucency. This property allows the material to catch and reflect light, giving the fly a lifelike and attractive appearance in the water.

  4. Versatility: Fly tyers use Ice Dub in various patterns, including nymphs, emergers, and streamers. It's valued for its ability to imitate the look of insect nymphs and other aquatic creatures.

  5. Color Range: Hareline offers Ice Dub in a wide range of colors, allowing fly tyers to match the hatch or get creative with their patterns. Common colors include naturals like olive, tan, and brown, as well as more flashy and vibrant hues.

  6. UV Enhancement: Some variations of Ice Dub may have UV reflective properties, enhancing visibility and attractiveness underwater.

Whether you pinch dub or tie it in a dubbing loop, this ice dubbing is very easy to use. Have been looking for a wine color to replace another dubbing that is dyed over mylar, Found it, and this will last a lot longer. Try a Lightning Bug with this in wine instead of the usual brown dubbing, KILLER!
