Nick Garlock
Michigan, USA

Born in Detroit, but raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I started flyfishing at the age of 15 when my parents moved to a suburb called Rockford. It just so happens that my neighbor was the famed Carl Richards, author and fly innovator. He taught me to create flies that imitate exactly what the fish were feeding on and that looked real in the fishes environment. I have fished all over the United States and have gathered influence from all over the world for my flies.

My fishing season consists of Salmon, Steelhead, Trout, Carp, and Gar. In addition to these fine specimens, I pursue smallmouth bass in the rivers and largemouth on local inland lakes.

Tying flies to me is more than a hobby, it?s a desire and a passion. I am always on the lookout for the next best material that helps to imitate whatever it is I am trying to accomplish. I am constantly testing my flies to ensure that I have a true winner.
