Daiichi 1850 Flat Eye Streamer (or similar) |
Hareline Barred Ostrich Plume |
Color and secure 2 or 3 plumes in place at the rear of the hook |
Virtual Nymph Nymph Skin |
Cut one end to a angle and secure in place at the rear of the hook |
Wind Nymph Skin forward to behind the hook eye and secure in place |
Secure in place and mark to your liking with waterproof markers |
Apply Deer Creek UV Flex Resin for the only tack free finish |
Cure UV resin with the Deer Creek Pro Torch |
Select 2 Aftershaft Feathers from a Ringneck Pheasant (or similar) |
Strip one side of the aftershaft (this one is ready to be tied into place on the side closest to a right handed tyer) |
Tied into place |
Repeat the previous steps for the opposite side of the abdomen |
Select an appropriate sized Grizzly Marabou Aftershaft Feather for the collar |
Secure into place behind the hook eye |
Wind the aftershaft feather several times to create a collar on the rear shank |
Whip finish and the rear section is complete |
Front hook is a Daiichi X510 |
Select a Nymph Head Evolution Burrower Beadhead |
Thread it onto the front hook |
Create a thread base and end up with your thread to the rear of the hook |
Select a piece of junction material |
Thread it through the previously tied rear section and double it over |
Secure it in place on the front section |
Utilize a pair of wire cutters to cut off the rear hook |
Spirit River Mottled Nymph Skin |
Cut a small strip and cut one end to a point |
Secure it in place ahead of the aftershaft collar |
Select the appropriate sized rump or wing feather from a Ruffed Grouse (or similar) |
Create a tie in point at the tip of the feather |
Secure into place ahead of the Mottled Nymph Skin |
Choose your favorite dubbing |
Dub to just behind the Evolution Bead |
Lay the rump feather forward and secure in place behind the Evolution Bead |
Lay the Spirit River Mottled Nymph Skin forward and secure in place behind the Evolution Bead |
Whip finish |
Coat the Mottled Nymph Skin and Evolution Bead with Deer Creek UV Flex Resin |
Cure UV Resin with the UV Torch |
